For an enhanced sense of style while driving at night, High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps are now used inside 2010 Mustang jeweled-round headlight lenses.
Glass Roof
Get a panoramic feel of a convertible while maintaining the legendary aggressive style of Mustang Coupe. The available glass roof is constructed of laminated safety glass that includes a thin layer of vinyl sandwiched between two pieces of glass to maintain excellent interior acoustics and quietness, and it comes with a tint to protect the interior fabric and a manual roller blind shade for privacy or to block the sun if desired.
Power Dome Hood
Redesigned inside and out, the 2010 Mustang features an angular, sharp-creased power dome hood that emphasizes the power of the muscle it’s covering, while overhanging the black grille’s forward lean to give a look of aggression.
New Chrome Pony Badge
The 2010 Mustang prominently features a redesigned Mustang pony badge. The redesign features a larger, more chiseled Mustang that holds its head higher and looks forward. As an icon for the vehicle overall, the horse’s sinewy, angular design cues are carried throughout the vehicle’s new design. The badge comes in Bright Chrome on Mustang V6.
The 2010 Mustang cockpit is an all-new blend of world-class craftsmanship, premium materials and the latest technology. A seamless, soft-touch skin wraps the one-piece instrument panel. The floor console now runs in a smooth, flat arc for precise shifting, while the shifter itself fits in your hand as it should. Perfectly. Controls glow Ice Blue.™ For added intensity, genuine aluminum panels are optional. Voice-activated Ford SYNC® is also available. The excuses are mounting.
New Interior Design
To ensure the 2010 Mustang affords occupants with a more modern, comfortable, and convenient interior than ever before, Ford designers completely redesigned the interior and included new features such as a seamless, soft-touch material tautly wrapped around a one-piece instrument panel, classic-styled conical gauges on a dynamic instrument cluster, a new center stack and center floor console with lockable storage. Also new are seat and door trim choices, sew pattern styling, ice-blue instrumentation lighting, increased seat bolstering, and map pockets on the backs of both front seats.
Smooth, One-Piece Instrument Panel
Ford designers redefined and refined the interior of the 2010 Mustang to achieve new style and enhanced comfort throughout. Updates include the use of a seamless, soft-touch Thermoplastic Olefin skin across a one-piece instrument panel, and an optional leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Bright Aluminum Accents
Appointments inside the 2010 Mustang Premium include a leather-wrapped steering wheel with Aluminum spokes, satin door speaker surrounds, a gloss-painted center stack and console, and Bright Aluminum accents on the dash, pedal covers, scuff plates, and shifter knob. All of which come standard on Premium arrays.
Interior Lighting
The available Ambient Lighting System lets you select (and change on a whim) the interior lighting color for the footwells, cupholders, and door sills inside your Mustang. Seven ambient colors are available — purple, blue, orange, red, white, green and new ice blue. Then there’s MyColor™, which lets you select one of 125+ custom colors for your instrument cluster. You can set the MyColor hue to an accent color for your instrument cluster or set it to match the Ambient Lighting System color. You choose. Standard on V6 Premium.
Craftsmanship
Get inside the 2010 Mustang and you'll ease into its refined interior. With its fine interior appointments and high-end cockpit, this new pony provides a pleasing environment for indulging in the simple pleasure of sports car driving. The use of seamless soft-touch Thermoplastic Olefin skin across the new one-piece instrument panel and new seat sew styles creates a tailored appearance and a feeling of cool comfort throughout.
Shaker Audio Systems
The optional 1,000-watt Shaker Audio System includes 10 premium Audiophile® speakers with four subwoofers - two door-mounted and dual 500-watt thumpers in the trunk - and a six-disc, in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability. The available Shaker 500 includes two door-mounted subwoofers, eight speakers and a six-disc, in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability. This 500-watt system is standard on Premium models.
Ford SYNC® with More Features
The 2010 Mustang offers all the great features of the available voice-activated Ford SYNC® System*. With SYNC you can access your music collection on your MP3 player by genre, album, artist or song title and operate your Bluetooth® phone with simple voice commands.* You can even make music selections through your flash drive by voice command.
Voice-Activated Navigation
The available Navigation System with SIRIUS Travel Link™ integrates several functions and displays them on an easy-to-use 8-inch, touch-screen display*. Features include voice-recognition destination entry, climate control and SIRIUS Satellite Radio. What’s more, the navigation system’s text-to-speech function conveniently calls out street names while the driver’s en route to a destination. The integrated DVD player is capable of reading CD-Audio, MP3 CDs, DVD, DVD-Audio and DVD-ROM (for digital map updates). A 10 gigabyte music jukebox function stores more than 150 hours of music. The screen can even be customized with personal photos.
Dual-Zone Temperature Control
Convenient Dual-zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) is available to allow the driver and front passenger to set individual temperatures for complete comfort.
Capless Fuel Filler System
With the new Mustang Easy Fuel™ Capless Fuel Filler System, fill-ups are quick and easy while eliminating the potential to drive with a missing or improperly installed gas cap. The industry-exclusive feature also helps to reduce smog-forming evaporative emissions. When fueling is completed and the fuel pump nozzle is removed, the system automatically seals shut.
Heated Seats
Enjoy the warm comfort of heated seats inside the front row of the 2010 Mustang with the optional Comfort Package. Each seat offers two levels of switch-selected heat. Available on V6 Premium and GT Premium.
Available Reverse Camera System
The available Reverse Camera System is activated when the Mustang is shifted into reverse to provide a clear view behind the vehicle. A small camera mounted within the decklid spoiler provides a video image that’s displayed in the self-dimming rearview mirror or in the navigation screen (on Mustang models equipped with navigation). The screen image includes an industry-first centerline and colored guides giving the driver a better perspective of the vehicle’s center point and periphery. The rearview camera system is optional on the V6 Premium and GT Premium arrays.
AdvanceTrac® ESC
The 2010 Mustang comes standard with anti-lock brakes and AdvanceTrac® electronic stability control and anti-lock brakes to give you more confidence and control behind the wheel under slippery road conditions. AdvanceTrac uses sensors to detect and measure yaw, or side-to-side skidding conditions, by monitoring the vehicle’s speed, throttle position and steering wheel angle. When AdvanceTrac senses wheel slippage, it reduces engine torque and applies the brakes as needed. AdvanceTrac can be run on or off with the V6 engine. In the GT Premium, AdvanceTrac can be run in on, off or Sport mode, which allows drivers to push it more while still retaining control.
4.0L V6 Engine
The standard 4.0-litre SOHC V6 powerplant for the 2010 Mustang pumps 157kw (210hp) and 325nm (240lb-ft) of torque; gusto that gets you going where you need to go—fast. The engine is mated to a smooth-moving standard five-speed manual transmission. A responsive, tight, five-speed automatic transmission is also available.
