About Us

Craig Dean began converting Mustangs (among other cars) during the 1980's. Since 1990, Crossover Car Conversions has been performing 'mirror image' left-to-right hand drive conversions (not to be confused with the inferior 'chain drive' conversion process). Craig developed Crossover Car Conversions from a hobby to the leading right hand drive conversion and ADR compliancing business it is today. Conscious of quality and safety, we will not compromise, and apply the principal of producing each vehicle as if it were our own, therefore quality is the key to the best right hand drive conversions in Australia today. The dedicated staff continue in pursuing excellence, assuring safety and quality continues at the highest level.

We refer to our process as 'mirror image', hence transferring all the components over to replicate the original engineering and design when the vehicle was first built. In some areas this requires manufacture of new components, or modification of existing ones. We always adopt a safe approach to redesign when needed, which of course is carried out in accordance with the National Code of Practises and also the requirements outlined in the Vehicle Safety Standard Act from the Federal Office of Road Safety. All conversion work is guaranteed for two years.

We have imported and converted Mustangs for over two decades, specialising in the many performance models such as SVT and Saleen. We are now RAWS approved for the awesome new Mustang models, including the Saleen S281, Supercharged and Extreme, and the soon-to-be-released Shelby GT500 coupe and convertible. We also convert all models from 1993-11/2000 and 07/2002-12/2004.

Our maintenance and repair services include our full workshop facilities, as well as spare parts procurement and a wide range of performance products and accessories. We can also tailor a purchase plan for the importation and conversion of your selected vehicle, including assistance with finance and insurance.

MOTORSPORT

Since 1997, Craig Dean has been participating in motorsport in order to further develop our vehicles, tuning and suspension. He has competed in Targa Tasmania in both Toyota Supra RZ Turbos and his Saleen S351 Mustang Coupe, finishing as high as an impressive second overall! Craig also campaigned the Saleen S351 in the Australian GT Championship. In 2006 Craig debuted a new supercharged Mustang Saleen S281 Extreme Coupe, and now competes regularly with this vehicle not only in Targa Tasmania, but also the Dutton Rally and other similar events. The awesome Mustang Saleen Extreme can also be seen on track at many motorsport events around the country, including the 2007 Sandown 500 and Indy Carnival.
