Steeda's S550 Mustang Extreme G-Trac Brace (also referred to as a K-Member Brace) for 2015-2019 Mustang GT, and EcoBoost are a direct bolt-on addition to your S550 Mustang and provides greatly improved front chassis bracing.

Steeda's Extreme G-Trac Brace mounts close to the control arm mounts, and helps strengthen the connection between the control arm mounts, and the rear of the subframe. This makes the load path more direct, and gives much more effective stiffening, so the suspension geometry doesn't change during high cornering/chassis loads. Manufactured from super strong chrome moly, alloy steel tube, making it over twice as strong as any mild steel offering.

Steeda Extreme G-Trac K-Member Brace

I had already fitted the Ford Performance shock tower brace but felt that the front end was a little hesitant to turn in and a bit vague considering the size and quality of the Michelin 4S tyres, lightweight forged wheels etc on my 2019 GT. My tuning shop said not to bother with any more chassis stiffening unless I was tracking it every weekend, but we love to try stuff, right? The fitting is a bit of a mission using axle stands and would take under an hour if the car was up on a hoist. I had to punch out the remains of the factory holes which was easy to do with a screwdriver. Instructions were a little light but I watched some of the on-line video reviews to sort the bolts and spacers. Probably took two hours, but everything lined up fine. Disappointed to find that the Brace touches the auto transmission cooling lines, so I added some rubber insulation. When driving the car, the Brace must be transferring shifting / pumping noise from the transmission to the cabin and there was a loud growl or grinding noise on every shift. Couldn't hear it outside, just in the cabin. I took the Brace off again and the noise disappeared. I added extra insulation between the Brace and the cooling lines; the noise is now barely audible and disappears completely when the trans is up to temp. I'm glad I hadn't cut the wires short on the subframe spacers so I could position them again when re-installing. Quality and construction of the Steeda Brace was excellent. I was surprised to find that the car points so much better in regular daily driving, the steering is super-direct without being heavy even in S+ or Track mode. There's maybe a fraction more road noise and vibration, but nothing I could really confirm. When going for it, there is a noticeable improvement in front end stability and I don't feel that it is sort of tripping over itself in high speed corners when nearing the limit as it used to do. Where previously it could move between under and oversteer pretty quickly, it now feels rock solid, really planted on the road. The limit is still there but is measurably higher than before, in my opinion. No added understeer or oversteer, it just holds its line very predictably and it works the whole tyre hard which I like. Very happy with the purchase.
