Team RTR’s James Deane and Ben Hobson took to streets of Long Beach, CA yesterday to ring in the 2024 Formula Drift season at media day. The event would be Ben’s first public driving in his competition Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD and first time ever drifting the
iconic course.

Veteran James was right at home quickly on track hitting his marks
looking to start his season where he left off, on the podium. Unfortunately, on
his last run of the day James would again set the internet ablaze just as he’d
done in Irwindale. In a fluke incident, you’ve probably already seen online,
James’s car caught fire leaving the engine bay in shambles. Having already
secured the P4 position, following FD’s offseason changes to qualifying, James
does not have to be back on track until Saturday giving the team until then to
work the magic we’ve seen time and time again.

Kicking off his rookie campaign Ben will be a part of the inaugural
seeding bracket Friday where he will battle Federico Sceriffo in a win or go
home battle to make Saturday’s Round 1.
